The Sacred Heart Basilica

The Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most significant religious places in Pondicherry, located 2.5 km away from the Pondicherry Bus Station on the south boulevard of the town. As one of the 21 Basilicas in India and the only one in Pondicherry, this church was established by French missionaries in 1908 and was rightfully granted the status of Basilica in 2011.
