Nurpur Fort: Nurpur Fort is a 900-year-old fort built by Pathania Rajputs. The fort is known for its ancient Krishna temple located in the inner sanctum. Later on, it was named after the beloved wife of Shah Jahan, Nur Jahan. Despite suffering damage in the great earthquake of 1905, it still stands tall and is a great place to visit.
Ranjit Sagar Dam: This dam was built for irrigation and power generation. Built on River Ravi, it is the biggest hydroelectric project in Punjab and a stunning work of engineering. The reservoir formed by the dam has a 32 billion cubic metre capacity, with 60% of it located in the Jammu and Kashmir region and the remaining 40% in Pathankot.
Shahpurkandi Fort: The Shahpurkandi Fort, constructed in 1505 by the Rajput Chief Jaspal Singh Pathania, stands tall as a testament to its rich history and is a must-visit destination. Its purpose was to protect the regions of Nurpur and Kangra, and even though it is now in ruins, it still exudes a sense of pride and grandeur that is sure to leave you mesmerized.
Kathgarh Temple: The Kathgarh Temple, situated in the village of Kathgarh, boasts of its magnificent 6 ft high Shivalinga. It is strategically located at the confluence of the Beas and Choch Rivers, providing a breath-taking view of the scenic landscape around.
