Maa Mundeshwari Temple Sightseeing

The Maa Mundeshwari Temple, also spelled Mundesvari, is an ancient Hindu temple located on the summit of the Mundeshwari Hills in the Kaimur district of Bihar, India. It is dedicated to the worship of the goddess Durga and the god Shiva, and is considered one of the oldest functional Hindu temples in the world.

The temple is believed to have been built sometime between the 3rd century BC and the 4th century AD, and is an archaeological monument protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) since 1915. The ASI has recently dated the structure to 108 CE, making it the oldest Hindu temple in Northern India.
